Mission 2586 - Archerfield to Glen innes

Background

On Thursday the 24th of January 2008 I flew Mission 2586, making it my 82nd Angel Flight.

The mission description from Angel Flight was:

INITIAL TRIP REQUEST:

Sixty-nine year old Godfrey Cole from Glen Innes requires cardiac investigation in Brisbane.

He is expected to receive a pacemaker and is unable to drive. His partner is also unable to drive due to an eye condition.

Valda and Godfrey were nicely settled in the back as we flew toward Glen Innes with only a few scattered clouds about.

With a headwind of about 20 knots we progressed toward Glen Innes where we touched down a little over an hour after take off.

Leg 2 - Glen Innes to Archerfield

I left Godfrey and Valda in the care of a friend of theirs who had come to pick them up and headed to the departure zone of the airport to fly back home.

What few clouds I encountered, I quickly outclimbed at 10,000' and, with the wind behind me, managed to get home about 10 minutes faster than on the way out.
