Mission 5929 - Archerfield to Moree

Background

On Monday the 10th of January 2011 I flew Mission 5929, making it my 149th Angel Flight.

The mission description from Angel Flight was:

SUBSEQUENT TRIP REQUEST:

A baby requires a trip to specialists in Brisbane for the removal of toe to thigh bilateral plasters and the fitting of a boot apparatus as part of her ongoing care.

The family had been spending three days to make these appointments as the baby cannot travel the distance in one stretch due to the risk of swelling.

Any assistance from Angel Flight pilots and Earth Angels would be appreciated.

We requested and received an instrument departure and soon after turning south at 900' we disappeared in the white stuff. About 15 minutes later we emerged on top and conditions gradually improved - until we hit the border to New South Wales - then the clouds just about melted away.

My adult passengers were cheerful and we had light banter going all the way while Georgia slept most of the way.

So I had little difficulty in locating the Moree aerodrome.

I was back on the ground in Archerfield, after having
